The introduction of RM 005 in 2004 was the first major success for the brand and set a precedent for high-quality timepieces. In response to market tastes, Richard Mille changed their approach with the introduction of RM 010 in 2006 which was larger in size (48 mm x 39.30 mm x 13.84 mm compared to 37.8 mm x 45 mm x 11.45 mm for the RM 005) yet had an identical mechanical gear train but with a higher level of skeletonization for its baseplate and bridges.
